Research Centre:
- A research laboratory could be established in the department following the sanction of a minor research project funded by UGC. A University approved research was established in the academic year 2014-15. Fourteen research students are registered for Ph. D. Degree. One student awarded the Ph. D. The laboratory is equipped with facilities for basic biochemical analysis and molecular biology. New equipments viz. Autoclave, Incubator, Vortex mixer, micro centrifuge, Magnetic stirrer, -freezer, Imported stereo microscope, LCD microcope with built in camera for image acquisition, SLR camera, oven and Rotary shaker has been added to the laboratory utilizing the fund of minor research project. A projector has been added to the department from fund. .
There is another autoclave, two balances (two digit and three digit), vertical and horizontal gel electrophoretic systems, pH meter, U/V spectrophotometer, microtome etc. acquired earlier in various funds (UGC and State plan funds).
The PG assistance has been utilized for the strengthening of laboratory facilities. , Imported digital balance, Coling centrifuge and Laminar Air Flow hood. Digital PC attached Spectrophotometer were purchased in 2020.
